Antonio Rigopoulos has been a full professor in the Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca' Foscari since 2015, teaching Sanskrit, Pali, Marathi languages and literatures, and the caste system. He holds a degree in History from Ca' Foscari University. In 1988, he received a scholarship to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Master of Arts in 1989 and a PhD in 1994. In 1995, he won a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Ca' Foscari. From 1999 to 2002, he was a researcher of Indian Religions and Philosophies, and from 2002 to 2015, he was an associate professor of Indology.
